A brilliant post on connections and friendship and what it all means in the “hyperconnected” world we live in. This, if you will, is a pervasive problem, and not just with the tech industry — this profusion of networks and connection and yet lack of true “friendship” in the sense that you have someone “who can sit you down” and tell you home truths is getting increasingly rarer as years go by and as social networking tightens its grips on relationships in life. This is why I find your last couple of lines so important where you advise that take a real life connection to lunch and have a real conversation. This is where depth of understanding each other and finding meanings and stories and everything else starts.

What a fantastic meditation Lane Wood!
