Great point and a great article. On that note, Meta Sanghas are relevant to the newbies in search for different traditions to suit their spiritual and personal requirements, to the extent the Meta Sanghas themselves are eclectic. In other words, if the selection of the Meta Sangha where the new recruit lines up is narrow and homogeneous, it is as good as joining a particular Sangha and no more. That diversity and choice is a crucial point in the shaping up of a Meta Sangha.

Then you wonder if, as the source of everything is Sakyamuni’s teachings as the fountainhead, how diverse after all can be diverse?
