How beautifully expressed!

This linkage between walking and spiritual connection you make with the earth, with your surroundings is to me the number one reason why we should build a culture around walking and reaching spaces within walking distances. There is also a case for using bicycles for instance (those who can). We are living in an age where individual fossil fuel based motorized movement has brought the existence of humanity into question. Everyday, as you learn about the perils of runaway climate change, the world's unabated hunger for fossil fuel, the need for personal motorised transport, one must think of how may we rejuvenate walking. If we were to be able to walk everywhere, life would be deliberately slow, spirital, local and connected to our surroundings.
