I’m not sure it is wise to take _that_ bait. You will most likely not get anything back that way as Medium Gods have set up a vetting process that is so opaque you know nothing about. They may not ask you to write anything. Worse than the chance of winning five bucks in Lotto. Might as well play slot machine with that money in your nearest casino if you want cash return.

OTOH, I am prepared to view this as a grand experiment where you pay to be a reader and eventually a conscious consumer of high impact information that you alone will _design_ for yourself with some help from Medium’s AI. It does not look like anything of this scale exists in traditional media so far.

Not newspapers or journals or magazines – where you pay to be readers but you control nothing, your editors decide for you. Not paid blogs – you pay to write but you control nothing on _that_ medium for information flow as a consumer.

This membership in that sense a very interesting special unprecedented “phenomenon” that will go I suspect in the direction of an establishment of a body of conscious long form reader-partners for electronic media. My hope is, if Medium can successfully pull it off, it will be a game changer in the global media consumption.
