Nice tip, Paul.
In Bengal, we have a saying, “kali kalam, mon, lekhe tinjon” (loose translation: writing is a threesome process of pen, ink, and mind).
Add to that: paper.
On that note, I hasten to add that invest in a sheaf of good paper or a notebook whose papers do not “bleed” (do not skimp, at any rate, you will not buy paper as pricey as the cheapest mid-level iOs/Android smartphone on a contract). Then go grab a nice fountain pen filled with good ink and an ink bottle.
Afrer that, Paul Cantor has the rest of the tips and rationale. :-)
