Not all of them, some vegans are so snooty that they are justifiably accused of being misanthropic.

Your main message in the article (btw, a _very_ good article) is totally supportable and very sound: veganism, taken and practiced in the right spirit is healthy, life-giving, ethical, environmentally sound, and a kind way of living. That way of veganism as a life choice intrinsically acknowledges that _everyone_ (including carnivores) have a right to live and choose lives as they want, i.e., live freely and fairly and we are all responsible for “living and letting others live” as they find it comfortable. If someone is not a vegan, that is fine. Then there are vegans who adopt a “holier than thou” attitude. Their obnoxiousness get accused of or often conflated with being misanthropic.
